Transliteration
Sare jahan se achha Hindostan hamara. Hum bulbulein hain iski, yeh gulsitan hamara.
English subtitle
Better than the entire world is our Hindustan; We are its nightingales, and this is our garden. If we are in a foreign land, the heart remains in the homeland — Know us as our hearts: there is no doubt where we belong. Mountain most high, neighbour of the sky — that is our own; It is our sentinel, it is our guard, this Himalaya. Religion does not teach us to bear enmity among ourselves; We are of Hind, our homeland is Hindustan.
